What Is Stigma

WHAT IS STIGMA is a resource by the team at the Psychosis Research Unit which provides an explanation on the stigma and discrimination that people with mental health difficulties sometimes face.

By breaking down the types of stigma into public stigma and internal stigma, the leaflet offers personal accounts from people who have experienced them. The degree to which stigma has been experienced by people who have been diagnosed with psychosis are further explored.

The leaflet also highlights ways in which there have been developments in tackling stigma at a national and an international level.
